Using ReadSpeeder is easy. Just paste text into the text-box and click ‘Submit Text’. ReadSpeeder will parse the text into the natural phrases and present the first phrase ready for reading.  Then just press the right-arrow key to advance through the phrases, or click ‘Play‘ and adjust the speed as required.

The average reading speed is around 200 words per minute, but with ReadSpeeder you will probably find you can comfortably read at 300 words per minute or more.  Although this speed increase is immediate, and requires no practice or lessons, using ReadSpeeder can help you develop the habit of reading whole phrases without thinking of each word.

Reading by phrases will help eliminate the habit of sub-vocalizing and regression. The quality of ReadSpeeder’s phrases makes them readable at a glance because each phrase is a meaningful part of the sentence, and the manual or auto-play mode keeps the reading speed comfortable.

There is also a read-only iPhone version, so that saved text can be read on the go. There’s even a bookmarklet which allows you to add ReadSpeeder directly onto any web page being read.
